The suburbs of Brandon are home to 3,346 residents, with a median resident age of 43. Most residents are married couples, families and retirees and most have obtained bachelor’s or master’s degrees. The average household income in the area is high at $148,056 and 65 percent of these wealthy residents own their own homes instead of renting.

Although Brandon is a community in prestigious Buckhead, it is one of the only neighborhoods within in the area that includes diverse home styles. The area is home to traditional single family mansion homes like its surrounding communities, but it is also common to find condo buildings, townhomes and multifamily cluster homes in the neighborhood.

The variety of real estate available in the community makes it a popular choice for potential residents. There is usually something to suit anyone’s taste and price points are also varied, making it easier for middle-class residents to afford property in the community. However, the median home price in Brandon is $735,662, so there are still more luxurious high-priced homes in the area than affordable property choices.

There are no apartments located within the perimeter of Brandon but nearby Westminster and Cross Creek have several complexes for potential tenants. Some of the most luxurious apartment complexes in these neighboring communities include:

The rental housing market in Brandon is competitive since the community is small, so tenants often need to look outside of the area for rentals close by.

The suburbs of Brandon do not include local businesses, such as restaurants or shops. However, residents have countless options in nearby Buckhead, Atlantic Station, Midtown or downtown Atlanta. Pero’s Pizza and Pasta on Northside Parkway and Yeah Burger on Howell Mill Road are both local favorites. The Whole Foods Market on Paces Ferry Road and the Public Supermarket on Howell Mill Road are both frequented by Brandon residents for groceries.

With no local establishments, Brandon is not considered a walkable community. Residents can enjoy strolling or biking through neighborhood streets but most drive their own cars to run errands or commute to work. There are also a few Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus stations in Brandon that allow residents to utilize public transportation, if desired.


The MARTA stations are located at the intersection of Howell Mill Road and Wesley Road. Passengers can get on Bus Route 12, which runs north and south all the way to Midtown. Passengers can get off at Cumberland Mall or The District at Howell Mill for additional shopping and dining options.

In addition to beautiful homes in Brandon, there are also several famous Buckhead landmarks that residents can explore and get involved in. These include:

  • The Carl E. Sanders YMCA
  • Arthur Blank Family Foundation
  • Junior League Atlanta

Bobby Jones Golf Course and Cross Creek Golf Club also border the community of Brandon and are some of the most prestigious and popular golf courses in Buckhead. The community is also home to Tophat Soccer Club and Peachtree Creek borders the southern side of the neighborhood.

Properties in Brandon hold their value due to the area’s low crime rates. When compared to other Atlanta neighborhoods, Brandon had much lower property and personal crime ratings. The neighborhood achieves extremely high safety ratings and most residents report feeling safe in the community both during the day and at night.

The public and private schools in Brandon are some of the best in Georgia state. Children living in Brandon properties are zoned to attend the following public schools:

  • Brandon Elementary
  • Sutton Middle Schools
  • North Atlanta High School

These public schools have higher than average ratings but many parents opt to enroll children in nearby private schools instead. The closest private schools in the area include Christ the King School, The Westminster School and Pace Academy.
